Rosé is just so lovely in the summer. Even though it’s a little basic… basic can be good. For #nationalroseday I’m offering you this gem: a Campari rosé spritzer. I personally love Campari, with its bitter notes, and I find it so refreshing in the summertime – I love Campari spritzers. This cocktail reminds me of a Campari spritzer but is softened with rosé and a splash of seltzer – and with a slice of fresh orange and ice, this is a*perfect* patio sipper. If you’re looking for a summer cocktail idea, this Campari rosé spritzer is it!
Like some of my other cocktails – this is so easy to make. Just mix it all together. (Also, did you know that in Italy they sell Campari Soda as standalone products? I need to move to Italy asap!)
Campari has an interesting backstory. The book Amaro notes, “The European tradition of making bittersweet liqueurs–called amari in Italian–has been around for centuries. But it is only recently that these herbaceous digestifs have moved from the dusty back bar to center stage in the United States, and become a key ingredient on cocktail lists in the country’s best bars and restaurants.” I’m here for that!
I’d recommend this cookbook with tons of other great spritzer ideas too!
